How to apply for research scholarships

Research grant publications have specific eligibility and selection criteria, with places awarded based on a competitive ranking process.  You should review the criteria on the Research Grants page to find a statement that matches your qualifications, experiences, and citizenship status.

In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must be applying for admission to a research degree.  If you are assessed as being eligible for admission, you will be considered for a research grant under a competitive process, and if you are already enrolled in an equivalent research degree at Western Sydney University, you do not need to apply for admission.

After submitting an application for admission, you must return to the portal and submit an application for a research grant (there is a checkbox where you can choose to issue a research grant).  You must submit an application for admission, or are already enrolled in an equivalent research degree, and request the issuance of a research grant to be considered for a research grant.

Foreign governments fund international research grants to establish their countries as global research centers.  Universities have established international research grant programs to attract high-quality students to contribute to their research efforts.  Research grants are usually towards a master’s by research / thesis or doctoral degree.
